ZK3A – Tokelau Island

UPDATE: ZK3A has had to QRT Early. The following is from their webpage:

A person on the island is ill. So they have sent the boat there early to get this person medical help. The team has ceased operations and packing up all equipment to get on that boat because there will not be another boat for ten days.  

There will be a major DXpedition to Tokelau Island, IOTA OC-048, between October 1 – 11, 2019.

Tokelau Island is currently ranked by Club Log #40 most wanted in the world. It is Ranked #26 most wanted in Europe. This is a 10-day DXpedition, however we have an advanced set up team arriving early. They will install all antennas which should allow ZK3A to be on the air ten full days.

All DXpeditions have large expenses, and this one is no different. We have a large boat charter in excess of $80,000, freight costs, and many other expenses. Our ZK3A website offers more information:

Our team leader is world famous YT1AD Hrane Milosevic with many DXpeditions and leadership under his belt. Our team consists of 18 team members from 9 different countries.

YT1AD and staff will handle all QSLing.

We will be active on 160 – 6 Meters CW, SSB, RTTY, FT8, and EME. We will have a four square on 160M from a 40M high tower. SPE Expert Amplifiers will supply additional DB’s! We will work all HF bands and modes. We will make every effort to work the most difficult areas.

At this time we have landing permission and License for ZK3A.
