VP8PJ South Orkney Is. 2020

A team of A-1 operators with extensive DX’pedition and/or contest experience are planning to activate the South Orkney Islands. Planned on island operation: Feb 20, 2020 – March 5, 2020.

14 Operators Include: Dave, K3EL (Team Leader), and Les, W2LK (Co-Leader), Gene, K5GS (Treasurer), Arliss, W7XU (Medical Officer), Heye, DJ9RR, Mike, WA6O, Steve, W1SRD, Laci, HA0NAR, Ricardo, PY2PT, Walt, N6XG, Rob, N7QT and Vadym, UT6TD, plus two invitees under consideration.

Seven stations are planned with Elecraft K-line (planned) and various high-power amplifiers. Antennas: Verticals, VDA’s and Yagis. QSL Manager: Tim Beaumont, M0URX. Bands/Modes: 160 – 10m, CW/SSB/Digital – FT8. Planned on-island: 14 days. Call sign will be VP8PJ.
