About WVDXA
The West Virginia DX Association (WVDXA) is a group of hams who love to work DX. We have this Web Page, a very active Email Reflector, a Blog, a Club Listing on Clublog, a Chat Page on Slack, plus we get together on occasion in the Charleston/Huntington area for “meetings” where we eat and talk about DX. The only requirement for someone to become a member of the WVDXA is that they indicate they “want” to become a member. At that point we consider them a member in good standing. No application process, no dues, no business meetings, no “Roberts Rules of Order.” We gather together in person, on the air, on email, or anywhere else with the sole purpose of enjoying DX’ing.
The group obtained the callsign, W8AH, from one of the founding members of the WVDXA upon his passing. We consider the suffix to stand for “Almost Heaven” – a slogan describing West Virginia.
Below is our QSL:
The WVDXA supports the DX Code of Conduct. This “Code” simply codifies the “Good Behavior” which any ham operator should use when chasing that elusive DX.
